The Catholic Church holds a mass in honor of the women who died in the Benue accident

Very Reverend and Dear Fathers, Men and Women Religious, Faithful Laity,
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We received in tears earlier this threat, the tragedy of a fatal accident at Wannune, Gboko Road, involving an a who carried some of our Catholic Women’s Organization (CWO) members in their Diocesan uniform, who were went for a funeral and were on their way home.

According to their pastor, the Very Reverend Father John AGBO, OSA, four people lost their lives in the accident.

On this sad note, the Cathedraticum for High Level Deanery scheduled for tomorrow April 8, 2022 has been postponed. In his place, the bishop invites like everyone else to a mass for the peaceful rest of the dead, the consolation of the biological families and the healing of those injured in the accident.

The Mass venue will be at St Francis Quasi-Parish, Owner Occupier Estate, Makurdi at noon. The color of the vestment for the Mass will be white. May Our Lord Jesus Christ, whose resurrection we await in this season of Lent, grant eternal life to their mortal bodies. And may every Spirit give grieving families and friends the courage to bear this tragedy with Christian resignation.
Fraternally yours,
Father Jude ORTESE, CSSp Diocesan Chancellor.
