“I’m confident our viewers will be excited about this new program which plays to Father Mitch’s strength as a scholar of scripture.”
EWTN President Doug Keck, who helped create the show, said it will “speak of Scripture in the light of Catholic tradition – highlighting early Church documents that shed light on the how we understand the Bible”.
Pr. Pacwa is the author of numerous thematic Bible studies. He will kick off the new show with his book, “Winning the Battle Against Sin,” which discusses biblical teachings on sin and forgiveness.
“After that, I’d like to balance that with my Bible study called ‘Saved,’ which touches on the topic of salvation,” he said in a press release. “I also did Bible studies on the life of Christ.”
Saying he will take the new ministry “step by step,” Fr. Pacwa added that he also hopes to study individual books of the Bible, starting with Isaiah and Jeremiah.
Viewer questions will form an important part of the broadcast and may be subject to www.facebook.com/groups/ewtnbiblestudy.
Father Pacwa is a Jesuit priest with a Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Vanderbilt University, as well as a Master of Divinity and STB in Theology from Loyola University Chicago.
