The sports association is preparing to open its doors in April
The Franklin Regional Athletic Association will hold its 2022 Opening Day on April 23 at Murrysville Community Park.
The opening ceremonies will be held at noon at the park, 4056 Wiestertown Road in Murrysville.
Team practices will begin on March 28, weather permitting, and team/individual photos will be taken on opening day.

Murrysville to host glass recycling and food drive
Murrysville officials have announced the 2022 dates for their Glass Recycling and Pantry Drive events, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Veterans Field parking lot, 4200 Sardis Road.
The dates for this year are March 19, June 11, September 17 and December 10.
Volunteers from Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church’s Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry will be on hand to collect non-perishable food items.
All colors of glass bottles, jars and decanters will be accepted. Unacceptable items include window panes, drinking glasses, dishes, ceramics, mirrors, light bulbs and televisions.
The women’s club will meet on March 17
The Murrysville Woman’s Club will meet at noon March 17 at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, 4813 William Penn Highway in Murrysville.
Lunch will be served at noon, followed by basket assembly for the club’s spring fundraiser on April 30.

Clearance Sale, Easter Egg Hunt at Union Presbyterian
The Union Presbyterian Church in Washington Township will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 24 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 25. Donations can be dropped off at the church, 656 Route 380. Items other than jewelry, furniture and antiques will be unpriced and will be available for donation at the customer’s choice. There will be food available for purchase.
The church will also host an Easter egg hunt on April 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at the church. The event includes a children’s story hour, craft and lunch.

The Bible study group begins the 6-week course on March 21
The Community Bible Study Adult Evening Class will begin a six-week study of the Book of James beginning at 7 p.m., March 21, at Murrysville Alliance Church.
Each week will include small group discussions and large group instruction. There is no cost, but registration is required by going to MurrysvilleEve.CBSclass.org. The deadline for registration is March 16.
