Couple in their 80s married after finding love in Bible study class

About two years ago, Otto Ewers met Janice (Jan) Matamoros during a weekly Bible study class. Ewers and Matamoros both lived at Belmont Village Senior Living Lakeway in Lakeway, Texas, not far from Austin.

Although Matamoros was not looking for love, Ewers, a widower, was more optimistic.

“After my wife died, I prayed that God would send me a woman who loved the Lord, who could teach me the word of God and who loves watching football,” said Ewers, who is now 82. years, at Southern Living. “Jan ticks every box! »

Although their courtship lasted a few years, the couple in love decided to marry in the community where they live and met. Belmont Village shared a congratulatory message on Facebook.
