When you look at the accomplishments of Manhattan-based pop-rock group Cloverton, you might think they scripted their success. Winners of the very first ROCK THE CAMP contest hosted by TobyMac and Camp Electric, Cloverton rocketed onto the Christian music scene in 2011, scoring the most downloaded song in radio history KLOVE for their debut single “Take Me into the Beautiful “. âAfter traveling countless miles around the world playing shows, festivals and even cruises, the four-member Christian indie group is focused on the future and releasing their highly anticipated EP.
Cloverton’s debut hardly ever happened either, as frontman Lance Stafford suffered from stage fright, was informally trained in music, and was unwilling to follow in his father’s musical footsteps. After taking up a cult leader position in a small Kansas church, the band slowly began to take shape with the help of twin brother Layne Stafford (bass) and Kirby LeMoine (drums). With the addition of Josh Svorinic (guitars), the quartet not only strives to put on a great live performance, but also to create an environment for God’s love to be expressed through sounds, melodies and the lyrics that the band creates on stage. Cloverton married rich sounds with scintillating lyrical movement in this worship offering. The whole collaboration is an effort that should offer hope and encouragement to people in all places of their journey (taken from Christian music today).
âOur roots as a band were worship, so that’s our ultimate goal,â says Stafford. âWe hope that our individual expressions of worship captivate and motivate others to do the same. It sounds different to everyone, and we understand it. We also understand that a worship song can be defined in different ways. And even if you can’t⦠hear many of our songs performed at a typical Sunday worship gathering, we believe all of our songs have a meaning and an expression of worship. “
