“Come and see what the Lord has done!” This call from Psalm 66:5 is the theme for the 30th anniversary of Community Bible Study Classes at Estes Park! We are celebrating with a meeting/open house on September 17 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Mountain View Bible Fellowship Church (corner of Highway 7 and Peak View). Current and former class members and our Estes Valley community are warmly invited to come reminisce and share birthday cake and other treats. Although there is no childcare at the open day, children are welcome. We have informative exhibits and a brief program will take place at 3:00 p.m. Prime! Joining us will be Kimm Carr, executive director of Community Bible Study at the Ministry Service Center of Colorado Springs.
Community Bible Study (CBS) began in Washington DC in 1975. It has grown into an international ministry providing in-depth Bible studies to over 600,000 adults and children in 122 countries around the world. We started CBS in Estes Park in 1992 with the day class for women and preschoolers. This class is now for women and children, from infants to 6th grade. The day class meets Tuesday mornings at Mountain View Bible Fellowship from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
We started the co-educational evening course in 2002 so that CBS could be accessible to workers. It’s now a “hybrid” class, with in-person and Zoom chat groups for men, women, co-ed and teens. The in-person adult group meets Monday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church, across from Good Sam’s. The teens meet on Tuesday afternoons at the Christian Church on US 36.
Our 2022 study at Estes begins September 12 (evening class) and September 13 (day class) with a 12-week Daniel study. We will then begin an 18-week study on Revelation in December.
