It’s not like Liz Lyon-Hall is just looking for something to do.
After all, she is a professional tutor for seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Additionally, she and her husband, Alan, have two daughters, Eliana, 15, and Alyssa, 12, and two sons, Daniel, 5, and Jaidon, 3.
On top of all of this, the Wesley Chapel family has dogs, a cat, a rabbit, a mouse, a bird, and two pet sharks.
Yet when Lyon-Hall read a particular verse from the Bible, she experienced what she calls a revelation – and she was inspired to share it with others.
“I realized at one point that any revelation from God, no matter how small, is not necessarily reserved for the person who receives it, but must also be shared with other Christians,” he said. she declared.
âI really want to encourage people to read the Bible and study it for themselves. It’s a great life message for me – just to encourage Christians to spend time in the Bible, âshe said.
It is important, she added, to âknow your scriptures and study them as much as you can.
âOne of the ways God speaks to His people is through the scriptures and if you don’t read them you are missing out on this opportunity.
âChristianity is not just a belief system. We are supposed to have a relationship with God, âshe continued. “If you’re missing his main way of communicating with you, you’re really missing out.”
So what started as a personal inspiration turned into a research and writing project.
âI typically wrote about an hour a night, around midnight to around 1 am,â she said. She took extra writing time on Fridays, which she usually removes from her day job.
She estimates that she spent about six months creating the study guide, which is titled “Hezekiah, A Conversation with the Enemy.”
The guide’s release will be celebrated with a book launch on July 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Bridgeway Church, 30660 Wells Road in Wesley Chapel.
Six week Bible study is divided into six weeks of study, five days a week.
âIt’s kind of a standard format for a lot of Bible studies,â Lyon-Hall said.
Although Bible studies can be done individually, this is not the general approach.
âThe main goal of most Bible studies is to be done with a group of people, so that you have a discussion and communicate – get to know and help each other throughout life, pray. for each other, that sort of thing, âsaid Lyon-Hall.

âThis Bible study, when I wrote it, I did it with my own little Bible study group,â she said. She also led it on a Bible study at Bridgeway Church, of which she has been a member since 2015. A second church Bible study group has recently started using the guide.
Lyon-Hall said its guide is designed for use by Christians of all faiths.
She plans to publicize the book by attending religious events, conferences, breakfasts, etc. She is due to sell her book at the Women’s Dream Conference at New Hope Church in Palm Harbor, August 13-14; the Animal Blessing Event at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church in Tampa on October 2; and the annual boutique of the St. Timothy Catholic Church Women’s Club in Lutz on November 13th.
Whether or not it is a big seller, Lyon-Hall said it was happy to have continued with the project.
She knows that the guide was extremely helpful to one of the first Bible study group participants who used it.
“It was a blessing to her, in particular – helped her in some way to overcome some of the problems she was having,” said the author.
âI’m not looking to make my millions with this book. I’m just trying to share it and encourage people to read their Bibles.
âI think God is going to use it for whatever he’s going to use it for. He will put it in the hands of those who need to read it, âshe said.
